OMAR DURAN

Army Sgt. (Retired) Omar Duran. In 2013 Omar met the AFT and “was welcomed with open arms and left with new friends and goals.” As a combat-wounded veteran, Omar has made the most of life post-injury. Among other accomplishments, he has conquered more than 25 marathons! Omar is a very skilled and talented handcycle athlete and looked up to by his teammates. He is often ‘the guy to beat!’ During the pandemic, Omar kept his Achilles spark ignited by looking forward to virtual hangouts with positive, like-minded friends. He is looking forward to “continuing to challenge myself and embrace the inevitable gift each day brings.” We are proud to have Omar, his wife Jill and their two pups Tyse and Gunner in the Achilles community!
