RESILIENCE RELAY FEATURED ATHLETE: CESAR
Achilles Resilience Relay 2021
CESAR JIMENEZ
United States Marine Lance Corporal (Retired) Cesar Jimenez. In 2012, along with veterans from the Manhattan VA Hospital, Cesar came out to try adaptive cycling with Achilles in Central Park - (Achilles is grateful to have a partnership with the Veteran’s Administration) - We haven’t let him go ever since! Cesar had conquered several marathons since 2012, naming Boston his favorite. In addition to the health benefits and joy that comes from the outdoors, Cesar also appreciates the interactions and comradeship shared with his teammates. Cesar trains multiple times a week with the Achilles NYC Chapter and says its all about “accomplishments and finishing what you set out to do.” Cesar was wounded while serving in Vietnam. Achilles is honored to have him, his wife and their two lovely daughters in our community and we are excited to witness Cesar accomplishing all he sets out to do.
