International Athlete Grant Application
*2024 applications are now closed
Achilles International is excited to offer the opportunity for Achilles athletes outside of the United States to apply for a $1,500 grant*. The grant is designed to help increase international access to the wider Achilles community and to expand and diversify race opportunities. To qualify for the grant, athletes must have been an active member of their local Achilles chapter participating in regular workouts and competitions for at least one year.
This individual athlete grant can be used for travel fees to compete in races, race entry fees, new equipment (racing wheelchairs, handcycles, prosthetics), visa fees, and other similar expenses that help you get to the start line.
*Special exceptions only granted for specific equipment requests.
Criteria
If accepted, grantees will be asked to communicate regularly with Achilles International for one year, providing reports including receipts, athletic status (upcoming competitions, race times, number of workouts per week), and any unexpected challenges faced after receiving the funding. Funds will not be directly transferred to athletes, Chapter Leads will receive and distribute the funds accordingly.
