Michaela Cueto joined Achilles as Chapter Lead of Houston, TX in 2022. She graduated from the University of Houston with her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. During her time as an undergraduate student, she volunteered with Sire, a therapeutic horseback riding non-profit for children with special needs and Adaptive Athletics, the university’s adaptive tennis program.
She is an athlete herself, as she has competed for her university’s powerlifting team multiple times and even on a national stage in early 2022. Diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease as a teen, she has had many setbacks in her own career as an athlete. This has allowed her to understand how all athletes can tackle barriers. She is very excited to grow the Achilles Houston chapter and raise awareness of Achilles’ mission.
