Genna began volunteering at Achilles in 2004 during her time as a performer for the USO. Due to her enthusiasm and devotion, she evolved into a prominent role in the Achilles office where she established the Achilles Marathon Tour enabling thousands of wounded veterans to participate in mainstream races nationwide. Genna has been tireless in her quest to raise awareness to meet the needs of people with disabilities. Her efforts have taken her through the halls of government and the presidents of Fortune Five Hundred companies.
Genna is a graduate of American University in Washington DC with a BA in Musical Theater. She was the 2007 Honoree of the Purple Heart Association of New York and the 2010 recipient of the American University Alumni Recognition Award. She lives in West Hartford, CT with her husband and their daughter.
