International Endurance Racing Driver Phil Hanson Surprises Team Achilles Kids

Professional racing driver Phil Hanson has been a regular special guest on Achilles Kids’ virtual workouts the past year. Earlier this fall, he surprised the group in person at a Central Park workout in September.

Hanson led a warmup, a Q&A about what it’s like as an endurance driver and a short run with the kids and their guides. Hanson has won numerous championships including the Le Mans 24 Hour and the World Endurance Championship.

The kids were thrilled to learn about everything from his average speed (which can start at over 200 miles per hour!), what he wears in the car to how frequently he is in touch with his team via radio on race day.

“It’s such a pleasure to be partnering with Team Achilles Kids. Fitness plays a big role in my day-to-day life and career. Being able to share a workout with Achilles Kids who share my enthusiasm for physical activity is always a delight and I look forward to more great workouts together,” says Racing Driver Phil Hanson.

Thank you Phil for your dedication and commitment to our work with children living with disabilities. We’re proud to have you on Team Achilles Kids!
