Marathon Tour
Every year Achilles sponsors a number of athletes with disabilities and Freedom Team members who participate in marathons and races. Based on the available racing slots for each event we provide a limited number of:
- Full sponsorships, which include airfare, hotel, meals and race fees
- Partial sponsorships, which include hotel and race fees
- Limited Sponsorships, which include race fees
Team members who would like to participate in marathon events can contact Genna Griffith at ggriffith@achillesinternational.org to find out what sponsorships are available. Some of the events the Freedom Team will participate in for 2013 include:
- Jan 12: Disney Half Marathon
- Jan 27: ING Miami Marathon
- Feb 3: Melbourne Marathon (elite handcyclists only)
- Feb 17: A1A Marathon Ft. Lauderdale Marathon
- Mar 17: LA Marathon
- Apr 15: Boston Marathon
- Jun 2: San Diego Rock 'n Roll Marathon
- Oct 13: Bank of America Chicago Marathon
- Oct 20: Detroit Marathon
- Oct 27: Marine Corps Marathon
- Nov 3: ING New York City Marathon
